Best Practices for License files in 4.0 - c06326342
The Service URL will be overridden with whatever is in the license file when applied to the PrinterOn Enterprise solution.
As of PrinterOn Enterprise 4.0, updating the service URL the best practice is complete the change on the PrinterOn.com website; this value is by default set http://127.0.0.1 in versions 3.2.7 and lower has minimal impact.
- Best practice should be to ensure the license generated by the PrinterOn Web administration portal at printeron.com reflects the correct Service URL.
- The change can be updated in the license file manually (with the correct service URL); however making this change on the Service Details page of the PrintSpot, will ensure this updated is saved for the future and accurately reflects the correct server address.
- The internal service URL will not be overridden if there is nothing included. So if you were to apply a license that contained a valid Service URL, but no InternalServiceURL, like the below example, it will not change any configuration of your Internal Service URL.
[Config]
ServicesAPIURL = https://secure1.printeron.net/
ServiceURL = https://145.240.172.88/cps
DeploymentMode = On-Premise
InternalServiceURL=
ParentConfiguratorURL=
The Service URL will be set correctly and the Internal Service URL would be unaffected.
If required to be different than 127.0.0.1, the Internal Service URL should be set on the local server after installation.
This is done from the Licensing tab of the PrinterOn Configuration Manager.
NOTE:
Applies to PrinterOn Enterprise 4.x and later.
