How can I remove a duplicate/uninstalled component from PONCONF? - c06298964

Using the steps below the administrator of the PrinterOn Enterprise solution is able to clear unused, deleted or duplicate components from the PrinterOn Configuration Manager.

The PrinterOn solution includes a utility which will help to clear the components from the parent PrinterOn Configuration Manager, forcing all of the ligitimate components to re-register again.

  1. Navigate to the default directory: C:\ProgramFiles (x86)\PrinterOn Corporation\PrinterOn Server Install Manager\Tools\PonConfClear
    1. 1.If using PrinterOn 3.2.4 and older use these steps (the Microsoft Windows Java version plays a part):
      • Open up the command prompt window as 'administrator' and navigate to the default directory: C:\ProgramFiles (x86)\PrinterOn Corporation\PrinterOn Server Install Manager\Tools\PonConfClear
      • Run the command "%PON_JAVA_HOME%\bin\java.exe" -jar ponconf-clear.jar (run the command from the directory and also include the quotes)
    2. If using PrinterOn 3.2.7 and later use these steps (PrinterOn Enterprise installs it's own Java):
      • Open the command prompt window as 'administrator' and navigate to the default directory: C:\ProgramFiles (x86)\PrinterOn Corporation\PrinterOn Server Install Manager\Tools\PonConfClear
      • Run the command "C:\Program Files (x86)\PrinterOn Corporation\PrinterOn Server Install Manager\Java\bin\java.exe" -jar ponconf-clear.jar (run the command from the directory and include the quotes)
  2. Running one of the command will restart all the components, once the components have been restarted (the feedback will be available within the command prompt window)
  3. Login to the PrinterOn configuration Manager and validate the components have been removed

NOTE:

Applies to PrinterOn Enterpriese 3.x and later.

After running the script, be aware that the licenses deployment mode within the PrinterOn Enterprise solution would be switched to Hybrid, navigate back to the Licensing tab and change this back to On-Premise, then initiate the synchronization request.
