How to disable DNS caching within the PrinterOn Enterprise solution - c06298970

Using the steps below the administrator from the PrinterOn Enterprise solution can disable DNS caching within the Central Print Services component and the Microsoft Windows system.

Disable Caching within the PrinterOn Enterprise Solution

  1. Stop Central Print Services
  2. Navigate to the default directory: C:\Program Files (x86)\PrinterOn Corporation\Apache Tomcat\bin
  3. Open tomcat8w.exe
  4. Select the Java tab
  5. At the bottom of the “Java Options” text box, put in “-Dsun.net.inetaddr.ttl=0”. This should be right under the existing “-Dfile.encoding=UTF-8”
  6. Select apply and Ok
  7. Start the Central Print Services (CPS)

Disable Caching within the Microsoft Windows System

  1. Click the start button.
  2. Type services.msc in the search box.
  3. Click on services.msc in the search results.
  4. Scroll down until you see "DNS Client" in the "Name" column.
  5. Double click on "DNS Client."
  6. Click the Stop button.
