The short answer is no. AirPrint is a combination of IPP and printer discovery. If enabling the native iOS/ AirPrint workflow, the Discovery option will enable network broadcasting of the printer (over port 5353 using mDNS ) on the VLAN where the Print Delivery Gateway application has been installed. Native iOS/ AirPrint can still be utilized without enabling Discovery by configuring an AirPrint profile inside an MDM solution, or using Apple Configurator.
