Encrypt the Central Print Services (CPS) passwords manually - c06241147
PROBLEM:
If your passwords are not encrypted in the server.xml file, or you are adding your own keystore certificate and need to update the password in the system.xml file, you can encrypt passwords manually using the Encryptor tool included with the PrinterOn installation.
SOLUTION:
- Open the command prompt as administrator.
- Navigate to this default directory: "C:\Program Files (x 86)\ PrinterOn Corporation\ PrinterOn Server Install Manager\Tools\ Encrpytor ".
- Enter the following command "%PON_JAVA_HOME%\bin\java.exe" -jar encryptor.jar PASSWORD
- The encrypted password will appear on the screen, copy the encrypted password and enter the value in the server.xml file.
- Document the password in a secure location for the future in-case further changes are required.
NOTE:
Applies to PrinterOn Enterprise 3.x and later.
PASSWORD is the plain-text password you need to encrypt.
You must copy the password from the command prompt window to be able to save the encrypted value.
