Failure to synchronize the Print Delivery Station (PDS) - c06242698
While trying to synchronize a standalone Print Delivery Station (PDS), it fails showing the error message 'no printers'.
This is most likely due to the PDS not being able to communicate to Central Print Services (CPS) to complete a license check and acquire an updated printer list.
To validate the URL used to communicate with the CPS complete these steps:
- Log into PrinterOn Configuration Manager and navigate to Advanced > Components > Print Delivery Station > Configure > Networking.
- Validate that the "Services Manager URL" is pointing to the address of the machine where CPS is installed.
- The default URL is similar to https:127.0.0.1/cps/rest OR http://127.0.0.1/cps/rest which is fine if both PDS and CPS components are installed on the same machine.
The address could also be the DNS name of the machine where CPS is installed, the software can use both IP and DNS URLS.
NOTE:
Applies to Print Delivery Station version 3.x and later.
If the Configuration Manager does not show the Service Manager URI simply click on the 'Gear' in the top right within the PrinterOn Configuration Manager and validate that the Show Advanced Settings option is set to ON (see image below).
