PQMS settings cannot be saved - c06758847

Symptoms:

  • PQMS print queue would not save
  • Warning icon shown next to the printer attempting to be saved
  • Could not map PQMS printer message shown when hovering over the icon
  • PDG logs include this line:
  • [INFO] ApiClient : Responding to request from a0d21b57-bd2c-44ce-ba66-ea0048d8ce36 with exception: fieldName = printerMappingsPQMS [ HP LJ ],errorCode=validation.pqms.couldNotMapPrinter,defaultErrorMsg=Could not map pqms printer.;

Possible Resolutions:

  • Ensure the driver set on the Windows Print Queue is a Type 3 driver [See How to verify the Driver Type]
  • Ensure the user who is logged into the server during configuration has Local Admin rights
  • As PDG will generally be installed on a print server, ensure the LPD service is started. Look for this line in the PDG logs: [WARN] Logger: LPD Port is disabled.
  • Restart the print spooler
