PrinterOn Print Delivery Gateway (PDG) fails to synchronize printers - c06229993
Some reasons and troubleshooting options to resolve a synchronization failure:
Option 1: Corrupted Print Delivery Gateway properties file.
To address this issue:
- Navigate to the default location where the Print Delivery Gateway properties file is stored by default here: C:\ProgramData\PrinterOn Corporation\ PONData \PDG\gateway
- Remove from the directory the existing properties file named ' Gateway.properties ' (move the file to another folder or delete the file all together)
- Move a copy of a previous backup of the Gateway.properties file to the location where the Print Delivery Gateway properties file is stored
- Login to the PrinterOn Configuration Manager, navigate to Home, then Services and start the Print Delivery Gateway service again
Option 2: Print Delivery Gateway component not started.
To address this issue:
- Login to the PrinterOn Configuration Manager, select the Services tab, then start the Print Delivery Gateway service
- Open up the Microsoft Windows service panel and try to start the Print Delivery Gateway service
Option 3: Incorrect Service URI defined for the Print Delivery Gateway
- Login to the PrinterOn Configuration Manager
- Navigate to Advanced, then Components
- Select Configure on the Print Delivery Gateway
- Select the Networking tab
- Modify the service URI information to reflect an address similar to this https://127.0.0.1/cps (where the 127.0.0.1 represents the address for the machine where the Central Print Service is running)
- Select Apply Settings
- Navigate back to Home, then Services
- Restart the Print Delivery Gateway service then try the synchronization attempt again NOTE: In version 4.1.4.2259, synchronizations will continue to fail when done from the Printers tab. You must perform the sync from the PDG Component's Import Data tab instead to ensure a successful sync.
NOTE:
Applies to PrinterOn Enterprise 3.x and later.
