Scanning a printer's QR code and choosing Release Jobs results in Java error - c06237439

When using a printer's QR code for releasing non mobile application jobs, the PrinterOn Enterprise solution, specifically the Central Print Service (CPS) must have a valid CA certificate.

If the solution does not have a valid CA certificate, upon choosing "Release Jobs" the error message will appear:

An unexpected error has occurred.

The following exception has occurred.

Please contact the system administrator and quote the following information:

Error: javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException : sun.security.validator.ValidatorException : PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException :

unable to find valid certification path to requested target.

Solutions:

  1. Purcahse and apply a verified CA certificate from a valid CA authority.
  2. Disable the SSL Verification within the CPS:
    1. Login to the PrinterOn Configuration Manager.
    2. Select Advanced, then Components.
    3. Select configure on the Central Print Service component.
    4. Select the Basic tab.
    5. Uncheck the option for Enable SSL Verification (see image below).
