What is Ghostscript and why is it used by the PrinterOn Enterprise solution? - c06238061

Ghostscript is a suite of software based on an interpreter for Adobe Systems' PostScript and Portable Document Format (PDF) page description languages. Its main purposes are the rasterization or rendering of such page description language files, for the display or printing of document pages, and the conversion between PostScript and PDF files.

• The PrinterOn Enterprise solution can use the Ghostscript software to generate a preview of the document being submitted, the user can therefore get a view of the document showing the contents that will appear on each page.
• Previews are generated and stored on the PrinterOn Enterprise solution by default, the files are then removed when the request changes to a print output or the preview is deleted due to time out.
