Google Cloud Print (GCP) - Deprecation by Google - c07673291

Google is discontinuing Google Cloud Print on December 31, 2020 and is transitioning to IPP printing.  PrinterOn already supports the IPP print method for other platforms and has preliminarily confirmed IPP printing from Chromebooks for non-authenticated users.

Google doesn’t have a complete solution yet for managed IT deployments. Customers may test using Google’s Enterprise Management tool to push printer configurations to devices. PrinterOn has not validated or tested this tool.  Additionally,  Google is still exploring options for authenticating users in a managed IT environment.  They do not have a recommendation yet. As a result, there isn’t a path forward yet for customers requiring authentication or integration with print management solutions.

PrinterOn is regularly communicating with Google about their print strategy and plans. We intend to continue supporting printing from Chrome devices within the limits set by Google.
